Our Gratitude

Today is a special day. It is a day when we stop to take time to honor those who have served our country and those who are currently serving. We thank you for the sacrifices made to maintain our freedom. We watched, as a family, the PBS 20th Annual Memorial Day concert that took place yesterday in front of the U.S. Capitol. It was an incredibly moving concert and tribute to our nations' servicemen and women. Today is a day when we often gather together for cookouts and for celebration, but we often forget the real meaning behind this day. May those of you who read this entry take time to remember. Remember the blood shed, the wounded who will never know life as they did before, the children who've lost a parent, the wife or husband without a spouse, or the parent without a child. We become immune to these emotions in our day to day lives, but those directly impacted live this pain everyday. I challenge you to never let a veteran or any military personnel pass you without reaching out your hand to offer thanks and appreciation for serving our country and for protecting your freedom. You never know how a simple, kind gesture can change their day and maybe yours too. To all who have served, our family thanks you! God bless you and your families.

The girls are adorable! Love the outfits. :) You crossed my mind several times this week...yesterday as I sang our school song that you wrote at my last Friday Live. (I'm resigning to stay home with Will. Yay!) And again on Thursday when Deb B. emailed me about HR stuff and mentioned that she talked to you on facebook just the other night. And again when I read your sweet comment to Shan. Hope you're doing well. Take care!
