Last weekend we went hiking at Pinnacle Mountain. We had a fun time. There are so many gorgeous places here in Arkansas that are so nearby. The weather on this day was perfect and the trees were gorgeous!

Our Gratitude

Today is a special day. It is a day when we stop to take time to honor those who have served our country and those who are currently serving. We thank you for the sacrifices made to maintain our freedom. We watched, as a family, the PBS 20th Annual Memorial Day concert that took place yesterday in front of the U.S. Capitol. It was an incredibly moving concert and tribute to our nations' servicemen and women. Today is a day when we often gather together for cookouts and for celebration, but we often forget the real meaning behind this day. May those of you who read this entry take time to remember. Remember the blood shed, the wounded who will never know life as they did before, the children who've lost a parent, the wife or husband without a spouse, or the parent without a child. We become immune to these emotions in our day to day lives, but those directly impacted live this pain everyday. I challenge you to never let a veteran or any military personnel pass you without reaching out your hand to offer thanks and appreciation for serving our country and for protecting your freedom. You never know how a simple, kind gesture can change their day and maybe yours too. To all who have served, our family thanks you! God bless you and your families.

The Graduates

Last day of Pre-school and then the First day of Pre-school. My how we changed. Our hair is longer!!!
Graduation Ceremony! Yipee!!!

Well, we are officially finished with Pre-school and moving on to Kindergarten in the fall. Unbelievable, isn't it? The kids all had to tell their teacher what they wanted to be when they grew up. Maggie said she wanted to be a cheerleader and Hannah said she wanted to be in college with her sister. She then emotionally shared with me after graduation that she really wanted to be a ballerina......of course......I think that was because she heard so many other girls say that. I'm sticking with the first choice because I think it's endearing. Their teacher said they were ready to move on. They are already talking about their school supplies for the fall. My, the time goes so fast.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to any woman who has provided cared for another in the way a mother would her own children. I remember a time when Mother's Day was far from a "happy" day for me. There were several Mother's Days when I was so very appreciative of my own mother, but I yearned to share that love with children of my own. Every Mother's Day I am reminded of how this day is celebratory for some and gut-wrenching for others. Some have lost their mothers, some yearn to be mothers and can't, some mothers have even lost a child. I thank God for granting me the gift of motherhood. Hannah and Maggie are a true blessing and I love them with all my heart. I also grieve with others who struggle on this day. Here is a picture of my blessings. May you all be blessed, as well.Thursday, April 16, 2009

My Little Angels

Well......I'm not very good at keeping up with this, but I'm adding some pics of the girls dating back to Christmas to Easter. We are all well here. The girls survived getting thier pre-K shots and are growing. They are the joy of our lives and Mike and I are so blessed by them each day. We love and miss all of you.
